!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is the sort of thing I could see myself realistically treating myself once I’m financially stable enough to trade up.

Start searching now so you can find a nice manual one.

What AM3R said. They do exist:

Do it! They are surprisingly capable at rallying.

That makes no sense, unless he finds a seller that holds the car for two years.

Keep the Saabaru as long as you can. Don’t jump into payments when you first get a job. Last hired, first fired.

Not sure if the manual would be worth an extra $5k AND three times the mileage for me, but I’d certainly look for one.

I once drove an E60 535i, it was incredible. A word of caution though: upon entering the real world, things will most likely be fine and go your way. But things can always go to shit in a millisecond too. I was making double what I expected to out of college as a business analyst at Samsung, and then the Note 7 fires happened, so the layoffs began. I lost my job and had to move back in with my parents after just 8 months out on my own. Shit happens. The TL/DR is that life after college can be highly unpredictable so until you are truly “established” in the real world, playing it safe is always a good idea. These cars are awesome, especially the steering, but I would stay away from ze German crack cocaine for a few years, especially the turbocharged variety that is filled with 10 year old BMW electronics.

That one is probably a bad example, price-wise. I thought it went pretty high, but it was a fairly nice one. I wouldn’t expect to pay $22k for a 6-speed unless it was pristine.

Trading up? Not financially.
E60 is not something I recommend for someone just out of college, unless you have a great “Doug” level extended warranty.

Hang on to the Subie long enough and you’ll be able to buy two Bimmers for what you sell it for.

Trade up to a JDM sti engine and build a car that nobody does.

Not really? They don’t pop up often. Start looking for one with all the options/color combo you want, and a 6mt, and I bet it’ll take well over a year to find one you like.

Still pointless, because you won’t be able..... I’m too old to argue over this shit on the internet.

I haven’t given it much thought, but I suppose it has future classic potential.

For all the negative criticisms they car got when new that car has aged remarkably well. Even the interior looks like it could pass for today.

My math teacher has one in manual. She really likes it, but it has been giving her weird electrical problems recently. Hers is a nice dark blue over caramel interior.

You have an awesome math teacher. One of my HS math teachers whose car I knew about drove a black/white Ford Edge Sport that looked like a storm trooper helmet.

Do those still have melty pistons above 400 crank?

She used to have an E46 but had to get something more family oriented

Not if you get a proper forged internal JDM STI engine like the Version 7. I forget whent hey stop having all forged internals but Version 7 STI engine for sure does have what you need.

If I get another turbo rally car for the road it’ll be an evo. Love Subarus, but they are an irrational purchase

I’m not going to lie, I would love to daily an e60 5-series wagon that’s been lowered with some mesh wheels. That’d be such a classy daily.

Evo IX is the best choice.

I liked my E60s (07 550, 09 535) a lot, but only because I had good warranties on both.
